This is such a lovely story. I really like how you played with the time/memory interspersements, and loved the way that Govan and Hugh grew and developed as individuals, not just within their relationship with each other, but in their relationships with the world and people around them. The setting is gorgeous, too. You made it come to life so vividly that it woke memories in me of peat and rain and gorse and the smell of loam under the trees.
