Actually, in the 3 days between the posting of my original comment and now I've read through all of the original series and the first 2 volumes of Reload, plus a couple of doujinshi I couldn't resist downloading. I will refrain from pointing fingers, but it seems that someone has managed to get me addicted to yet another manga fandom!
And not only that. Even though the manga is pretty rife with Gojyo/Hakkai "hints" I somehow ended up with Gojyu/Sanzo first (which admittedly was slightly scary)... then came your fic and now I can't get the idea of Hakkai/Sanzo out of my head. It's madness! And all your fault... on both counts! ^_^; Really though, I haven't zoomed in on any favorite pairing yet, so I'm open to all the possibilities :) After all I haven't even caught up with the original yet... how far is the series along anyway? And do you have any recommendations where to go to keep up with it, or to find more good fanfic or other goodies? I'm definitely excited and ready to go and jump into the fandom :)
Oh, and thanks for that link too! Kyo/Yukimura sounds fascinating, I'm definitely going to take a look at it.
