Aww, thanks! smilla reminded me in her beta coments that Hakkai has done something rather like that in canon - when he was standing on the bridge with Gojyo just before Goku was attacked, and starts imagining himself married to this indestructible woman who will bear him a flock of daughters. Gojyo and Hakkai can't always operate on the same level, but they try very hard to meet halfway ... sometimes it works.
